This policy explains how Leconte & Ringuet, linguistic consultants ("the Firm", "we") collects, uses, retains and protects the personal information of visitors to leconteringuet.com and of individuals who contact us through the site's contact form. It is written in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (CQLR, c. P-39.1), as amended by Law 25.

Person responsible for the protection of personal information

The person responsible for the application of this policy and for handling requests related to the protection of personal information is:

Information we collect

When you complete the site's contact form, we collect the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your organization's name (if provided)
  • Your email address
  • The service you are inquiring about
  • The content of the message you submit

When you submit the form, the information is transmitted directly to a script hosted on our own web hosting account (WHC, Web Hosting Canada), which forwards your message by email to LR@leconteringuet.com. No information is sent to an external provider: processing is handled entirely by our own hosting provider.

No third-party data transfer

The fonts used on this site are hosted directly on our own servers rather than by an external provider. The contact form also uses a bot-verification mechanism (ALTCHA) that runs entirely on our own server, without transmitting data to an external provider. No analytics tool, advertising tracking cookie, or behavioural tracking service is used on this site.

Purpose of collection

Information collected through the contact form is used solely to respond to your inquiry, assess the nature of the proposed engagement, and, where applicable, establish a professional relationship with you or your organization. We do not use it for any other purpose and do not use it for unsolicited marketing communications.

Disclosure to third parties

The Firm does not sell, rent, or disclose your personal information to third parties, except where required by law.

Retention period

Emails received through the contact form are retained for a maximum of one (1) year from the last exchange, after which they are deleted or anonymized, unless an ongoing contractual relationship or legal obligation requires longer retention.

Security measures

Email exchanges are protected by the standard security measures of the Firm's email provider. No personal information is stored in a publicly accessible database or hosted on the site itself.

Your rights

In accordance with applicable law, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • The right to access the information we hold about you;
  • The right to request correction if it is inaccurate, incomplete, or ambiguous;
  • The right to request its deletion or de-indexing, subject to legal retention obligations;
  • The right to withdraw your consent to its use or disclosure, at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, send your request to LR@leconteringuet.com. We commit to responding within 30 days.

Complaint to the Commission d'accès à l'information

If you believe the Firm is not meeting its obligations regarding the protection of personal information, you may file a complaint with Quebec's Commission d'accès à l'information (cai.gouv.qc.ca).
